It is interesting that some have issues while others don’t. Wonder if it depends on how and what the truck is used for.
Agreed. I hope short trips around town, and never towing, doesn't become the source of an "issue" for me. Severe duty maintenance schedule followed. Still...I heard someone say once, "if you "baby" a diesel, it'll **** up". I can't believe that's true.
Mine dosen't get a lot of short trips but it dose go to the grocery store. I work 15 miles one way, 12 or so is freeway, everyday, it hauls a trailer once in a blue moon but really no weight to speak of. It's hauled a 5ver or two for a friend, never an issue. But it came up with a squeak yesterday, the wife says what the freak is that, OMG 136,000 miles and 10 years and I 'm thinking I might have to take my original shocks off, just can't get that original equipment crap to last like it should. LOL
I will say that after reading how Picton pulled the plug on his EGR after tuning I decided to do the same last night
I'd swear the damn thing runs even better now, and it was turned off in the Minni Max
Good to hear Robert. I'm not sure if it really makes any difference though related to performance...though if you've noticed an improvement...hell...take it.
I leave the plug slightly plugged in...enough to sit there...but not fully engaged so the contacts aren't engaging. I was told it had more to do with the valve getting power...but never actuating(because its disabled)...so it could fry the valve and leave it stuck. So..."don't run the power to it if it's been disabled" was basically the explanation I was given.
