Fuel filler neck relocation

Fuel filler neck relocation
I bought the LMC rear mount fuel tank for my ‘66. Fits nicely, but I’m not happy with the location of the filler neck. It’s off center by about 3”. Has anyone relocated the filler neck to better center it? I’m thinking of taking it to my local welding shop and having them do it. Anyone know of or see any unforeseen problems in doing this?

Well, I should have done my homework before posting my question. I got to looking at the mounted tank and then realized that my step side bed has an even number of runner boards for the bed. If I Center the filler neck that would put it smack in the middle of a board runner.

Have you bought that yet? How does it open? This is the type I was referring to. Sits flush, and you have a key or a spanner wrench to open it.
