Has anyone (besides me) gotten their truck hopelessly stuck lately?

If you don't get stuck, how do you know if you're having fun?

I did that. And I learned my lesson. The tow truck had to chock its tires and it had the front tires off the ground before my truck moved....

Yup. I did that (at least) once. Needed a big 4WD John Deere with a really long tow strap to get me out. I had my doubts whether the Deere could get the job done, but there was just enough "dry" on the high ground to make it happen. The ag tires on the Deere were a good thing too.

That 3.3L truck is impressive but apparently not invincible lol. I hope to try out a 4x4 version next year.

Tires , tires and did I mention tires. The factory tires are for gas mileage only and have no business in mud or off- road or even wet grass.

Yep, those Fortitude tires are pretty much worthless. But, no tire performs well in clay. Although as short a run as that was, some mud tires on the rear would probably have got it through there.

I was going to mention that. Even with deep lugs on off-road tires, once they get loaded up with clay, they act like slicks. Sometimes you can't win.

No mud problems this April. Will be -17 deg. C. in the morning with a high of -12 tomorrow. This is when the daily high average should be +8 C. and yes I am whining!
