The Demise of April’s Flatlanders Truckfest
#16
I enjoy anytime we get to meet to talk trucks. I was really impressed with the knowledge when we met at Rob's in Bloomington. I am an electrical contractor so it is sometimes hard to plan ahead for trips. There is no better way to get swamped at work than to plan a trip. I don't know how people know when I am trying to get away. Lol

BJ sorry your gathering didn't come together... It's hard to plan something, lots of folks nowadays can't plan on scheduled vacations... they steal a day or two when they can... I think job security and the past eight years of unknown futures had a lot to doi with that situation..., We used to try and get a group meet together at the supernats and everyone was in the same place !!! it was like herding cats. I don't know if lives will ever settle down like in the 'old days' When was the last time you sat on the porch after dinner ??? Dinner was probably a double cheese heartattack maker on the way home from ball practice ! Don't give up on your idea... things might surprise you. Retirement, eh ??? I'm busier now than when I worked two jobs !!!
happy Easter to you and family

Keep your head up, BJ! Not your fault.
I hope the same thing does not happen to the Central PA Mountain Truckstock I am hosting in September! I hope the PA Truckstock and the one in KY, in back to back weeks, weeks not dilute the available field. I hope both succeed! I liked your idea of t-shirts. But risky to do if attendees are wavering.

I really thought the T Shirt design was pretty cool if I say so myself. I am glad I didn’t order the shirts! I did order 50 window stickers but hey live and learn. Joe said he wanted me to bring the FTE Banner to Grand Nationals. He said he had a get together between Grand Nationals & Central PA Mountain Truckstock.

Having a father in law in a dependent care facility makes it hard for me to commit to going out of town anytime. He is about to turn 90 and has been diagnosed with alzheimer's so it seems like every time we plan something there is a problem that we need to address.
So BJ, if you wan't to recoup some of what you spent why don't you sell the window stickers, I would like one to put on my truck.
I really hope to be able to get away in the fairly near future, but hard to wish what would have to happen to be able to...

PM me your address Topmoo I’ll send you one. I understand your situation, I was there until my Dad passed. Alzheimer’s is a terrible way to go. Lots of frustration on everyone’s part. My Dad use to say it if you have to go Alzheimer’s was the way to go, No Pain. I had to do a day trip to the first Flatlanders Truckfest in Normal, IL due to Dad. Missed the one at Bob’s Dairy Farm due to Dad too.
