2018 2.7 intercooler thoughts
Hello all I have a 2018 2.7 L and really would like more performance I spoke with the owner of the Ford performance specialists I ended getting a tune module and a oil separator which I was planning on in the first place. I was thinking I was going to getting a Mishimoto intercooler my under standing is it can lower inlet tempeture by34 deg % which sounds fantastic we all know cooler inlet temps mean more cylinder fill lower preignition and more dense air to burn more fuel he felt would be wasting my money he is a professional so who am I to argue with him ? my plans later are to fabricate a very nice down pipe because I can and im not spending a 1000 dollars for what i can do myself I will be using a F250 diesel exhaust which is straight through with a built in resonator.
I would very much like your thoughts on the intercooler I also will be modifying my bumper to force more air through the intercooler and will show you when im done it will look complety stock except to the traind eye.
but please state your opinions or facts dyno graphs id love to hear your input on this thank you all who contribute i appreciate it .also thinking about removeing the economy slats that probally will fail eventually but leave actuator pugged in so it wont throw codes any info on this is welcome as well thanks again PS i really wish i bought the 5.0 or at least 3.5 LOL

Not sure why you want to increase airflow to the bumper. All the aftermarket intercoolers are located higher up. After the intercooler you will need the upgraded HPFP, Injectors and Turbo for full improvement along with a new tune. The stock intercooler handles about as much as the dinky turbos can push.

The HPFP is the High Pressure Fuel Pump. Currently I don't believe anyone is making a high performance one for the 2.7. I installed the XDI pump on my 18 3.5 and was running E85 tune. Was good stable 130hp gain, did require turbos, low pressure pumps and intercooler. Final dyno numbers were 515/610.

You can have your stock turbos upgraded to stage 3.
