Question Cab Light Positioning

Hey all. I want to install cab lights on my 97 F250. I've found some threads discussing the spacing, etc. However, could anyone let me know if they are supposed to follow the curve of the roof line in a slight arc or straight across in a line? Also, are they supposed to be "towed" out any with the the center light being straight ahead? Hope this makes sense. Thanks! (Maybe be easiest if someone has factory cab lights to post a pic of their roof, if my question isn't worded adequately.)
