2001 V-10 throttle up?
Sooooo, have a 2001 F-450, with V-10, and automatic transmission, in my tow truck. I currently have a manual pull cable, on my back deck, to increase engine rpm's while stationary. Sadly, it was ran to close to the exhaust, and melted the cable. Now it doesn't work. Also, these often times get moisture, dust, etc., in the cable when they are mounted like this, and become inoperable. I would like to find something like a "pull solenoid", with a cable, that when 12v is applied will pull open the throttle valve to a pre-set point to increase engine rpm to increase the hydraulic pump speed. Also have wondered if there is a way to "trick" the cruise control to increase rpm while stationary. I can just replace the pull cable, but, was hoping for a more modern solution, that doesn't cost $300, and will be more reliable, and not exposed to the weather.
Any ideas?
