jingling noise when in four wheel drive.

I recently purchased a 2011 F350 with 120000 miles. Whenever I put it in 4 wheel drive and start moving a hear a jingling noise coming from underneath the truck. When I slow down and stop I hear it again. Sounds like a loose ring on a shaft. Can someone tell me where this might be coming from? Seems like it has to come from the transfer case or the front pumpkin.

Probably going to have to crawl under the truck and feel around for loose stuff

Keep the transfer case in 2wd but lock the hubs on both sides in manual instead of auto, this will get the front axles spinning. If you have a noise, it’s narrowed to the front axle. If no noise, but returns when the transfer case is back to 4wd (hubs in either auto or manual), then the issue is the transfer case.

Does it only make noise while moving forward or reverse? In 2WD or 4WD?

I had a lift put on once and the shop didn't install and adjustable trac bar. This pushed my front end to one side enough that when 4WD engaged, the front driveshaft was rubbing on the exhaust.
