The IPR seal failed, And the screen filter has some small metal parts. So, while I'm there I will add a new IPR, Pump and the tube the connects everything. Parts on order
New Air oil cooler is in. New 220amp Alt is in, Edge is in, Who knows what else is needed besides a body shop since the truck was hit while waiting for work to be done. At least I'm not paying for the additional labor since all of this had to be removed anyway.

Well to recap after truck dies on the road. We towed it into a shop. The truck was hit and run while sitting at the shop. Dodge truck driver POS. We are out $500.00 for deductible.
Ordered BP air to oil cooler with cold weather bypass. Needed new IPR, the tube and new HPOP, needed 2 new Batteries, needed new Alternator 230 AMP. Needed new belt and belt tensioner as it just was not working for some reason, added blue spring, deleted EGR and cooler, added Edge gauge pod and Pyro, had turbo cleaned and inspected, had FICM checked and it is ok. replaced o rings on plugs on the side of the engine due to leaks, engine programed but not the correct program for the EGR delete. I'm told it runs very well now. The shop has been driving it around today for test. I may still have an issue as we don't know why the batteries died but it has not returned, old battery's are holding a charge just fine so it could be the old Alt, we did not test. it failed to turn over yesterday but after turning off and back on it started. If I get it back today and I can find enough money to pay for it. (unknown bill still) I still get to drive it to Reno to a body shop for an estimate to repair replace the rear section of the body. wait another 5 weeks to be seen for repairs and another 2 or 3 week for repairs to be done. I may get my rig back. FML. Ford diesels are killing me. My 1986 6.2 Diesel Chevy blazer keeps on running.

Sounds like you should be good for awhile with the 6.0....and just to respond...it isn't Ford diesels. Your 7.3 was a pile when you bought it no thanks to the a-hole who snowed you. It required a lot of work. And the 6.0, well, they are finnicky as anyone knows.

Did you go back in w/ an OEM HPOP or did you go aftermarket?

Batteries (and alternator) shouldn't surprise you too much, I think that was some of the first 6.0L advice you got from a shop and from us! The FICM is very "finnicky", but not so much after FICMrepair.com upgrades it.

Especially since it is tuned, did you add the fuel pressure gauge?

and that 6.2 would have a hard time pulling a loose tooth
sorry, had to rib you on that one.
Speaking as someone who has owned a few years ago........even had a 5.7 Olds diesel for a spell, now THAT was one gutless engine, but sure did sip the fuel. Just had to leave for the destination five minutes earlier than with any gas engine.

I went with a new Ford HPOP. My only fear right now is, will the Insurance want to total the Excursion out. After Dumping almost 6k into it . It needs at least 5 k in body work, More to come due to some parts are not made anymore and waiting on cost.

If the insurance agent totals it out, buy it back. It will have a salvage title but you know the truck. Might even make a little money on the exchange.

I would do that. Then get it fixed. turns out its getting very hard to get parts for the body. Most of the Excursions out there are just crushed and not cut up for repair parts. I need the drivers rear side. The shop will not buy the pars off of e bay even though they have the new parts for sale there. I may have to go to another shop but this shop is the best for hundreds of miles.
