Finding the connectors aren't an issue. I use Molex and TE Connectivity connectors as well as professional premium grade crimper...again from both companies mentioned above. Its finding the time between finishing building my personal truck to satisfy my sponsorship(s) requirements, my ongoing sales and support of my current line of harnesses, family life, yard work etc.....lol. I appreciate the info. I have annual access to Ford online vehicle repair manual so all bases are covered. Just alot going on all at once... lack of information isnt an issue...its time to peer thru it.

PSM - I've been hunting high and low for this specific information. You noted in your post about the Raptor wheel swap that not all connectors were used. Is this due, in part, to the fact that the F250 airbag uses only 1 connector, but the Raptor and F150 airbags use 2 connectors?

I'm trying to find out if an F150 Limited wheel will work in my F250, and I think I have the same 1 vs. 2 airbag connector issue there, so knowing this info will help me figure out if it will work.

the wheel should swap over the only thing that will need to be changes are the buttons on the bezel. The airbag conector comes from the clockspring. The trucks with adaptive steering have a differnt pinout for the connectors.

Thank you! I didn't realize the airbag connector came from the clockspring.

I don't have adaptive steering or lane keep assist, so I think I'm going to try it.

The wheels are all pretty interchangeable, you just move your airbag over and you're good to go. You can even keep the buttons in place if you want. The button will continue to do what it did before, it might just be labeled wrong if its assigned to a different function than what your truck was specced at.

My raptor wheel has some steering adjustment buttons for their electronic steering functions. It works as my mute and voice activation button. Doesnt bother me as I never look at the buttons anways, and the button activation is actually much nicer that my XLT wheel. I was originally planning on swapping the button clusters out, but after feeling how much nicer they were I decided to just roll with them.

And if I currently have the heated wheel, that will continue to work assuming I also buy a new, heated wheel?

I've noticed the exact same thing. My new raptor wheel does not seem as hot either. At first I thought it was just because it's still pretty hot out and only gets into the 50's at night, but the raptor element may just not heat as much.

I also lost my homelink garage door opener function once i added the new wheel. Not sure if it's related or not, but my garage door opener no longer works. anyone else had that happen?

you can change the wheel tempature with forscan. I added the heated wheel function after the fact. My homelink still function.

Here are the forscan codes to change the tempature
.
714-02-01: 0244 4444 xx - Wheel Temperature = 68ºF - 2013/2014/2015 Fusion/MKZ Default
714-02-01: 024C 4C4C xx - Wheel Temperature = 76ºF
714-02-01: 0254 5454 xx - Wheel Temperature = 84ºF - Mondeo Default
714-02-01: 0258 5858 xx - Wheel Temperature = 88ºF
714-02-01: 025A 5A5A xx - Wheel Temperature = 90ºF
714-02-01: 025C 5C5C xx - Wheel Temperature = 92ºF - 2016/2017 Fusion Default
714-02-01: 025E 5A5E xx - Wheel Temperature = 94ºF
714-02-01: 0264 6464 xx - Wheel Temperature = 100ºF - 2016/2017 MKZ Default

Got my paddle wired up with BGG's harness...top notch work buddy, really professional looking harness!

I'll do a small write up for those coming afterwards to help clear any confusion.

- First you need to remove the 3 bolts under the steering column. Mine were 5.5m
- You'll need to pry the column apart. Start at the front and work your way back, there are little posts that the rear pivots on, it opens sort of like a clamshell. I didnt fully remove mine, just pried apart with a plastic body kit tool from HF and plugged everything in.
- You have two connectors and three pins to insert, the pins are inserted into the connector that is on the back side of the SCCM. Its the left side of the steering wheel, at the back of the clockspring unit. Unplug this and look at the back of the connector. If you have good eye sight you'll see that the top left pin is #1, top right is #6, bottom left is #7 and bottom right is #12. We're plugging these pins into 9,10,11 and the wires are convenitently labeled for us (Thanks Lawrence! )
- To insert these pins, you have to CAREFULLY remove the white locking piece on the front of the connector. Dont go hulk on it, its not SuperDuty by any means. You pull, push, pry this forward off the connector. Once its off you can insert your pins. Look at the other pins to see how far forward they come, yours need to line up with these.
- Push the white locking tab back on and seat the connector back in its spot.
- This is the easy part, the other two connectors are basically just going in-line on your stalk connector. On the right side of the steering column theres two plugs connected together and attached to a mount with the pressure snaps. Gently remove both connectors and disconnect them from each other. BGG's harness connects to both of these. Push them back into their spot after connecting and use the included zip ties to tidy up the wiring.

Turn your truck on and have fun paddling the **** out of it in your driveway like its the 1985 ping pong championship!

Steering wheel conector.
Actually it seems this is NOT the case for all 2017+ SDs. Look at Tricon's pic of his connector. Its hit or miss with the SDs just like it is with our F150s (mine and others with F150s )
These 2 connectors BOTH fit into the steering column @ location C219 however they use ever slightly different pins. Its not a super big deal as even using the pin from the other connector, they will seat into the other's housing. I have both pins for each connector....Just wanted to publish this for accuracy.

Great info. Do you know what the default temp is for the SD?

Are you saying that when you swap buttons, it swaps the entire button structure (cover, sensor and rebound mechanism)? I know you said the action of the Raptor buttons was aesthetically better, but I would want the S/D button covers. For instance, I don't use cruise control often and would tend to forget which buttons did what with the Raptor button covers. However, I might reconsider if I had to swap over the entire button structure instead of just the button covers.
