2013 F250 6.2L lariat crew cab VS 2016 F250 6.2L Lariat crew cab

I am looking at buying a new truck and I came across two F250’s that I like. One is a 2013 with 29,000 miles and the other is a 2016 with 75,000 miles. Both trucks work out to the same cost and both trucks have the 6.2L gas engine. I would like to get your opinion as to which truck you would pick. The older truck with less miles or the newer truck with more miles. The newer truck does have a 12,000 mile warranty. The trucks seem to be the same exact thing.

I would go for the lower mile truck. Maybe one has 4.30 gearing?....

The lower mile truck for sure.

They both have the bigger brakes that started with the 13 model year.

Being a Lariat, see if they both have the lariat interior package that gives you heated and cooled seats. There are little options that varied from one lariat to another but no major differences in the trucks themselves.

Both trucks have the 3.73 gearing. That should be ok for me.

That is the way I’m leaning. However, I do like the paint and interior of the truck with high miles better. I could live with the color of the other one with low miles.

They both have heated and cooled seats and the low mile truck has heated rear seats according to the window sticker. The low mile truck seems to have a couple more options then the high mile truck.

I would check the engine idle hours and look underneath the '13 checking the suspension - it's possible it was a work truck, spent time "off road" at construction sites and a lot of time idling. You also may want to see if you can pull the history of both trucks.

Just thought I would give an update. I ended up going with a 2017 XLT F250 crew cab 6.2 3.73gears with 19,000mi. I picked it up for the same price as the older Lariat’s. The lariat’s are nice but I figured a new truck with 19,000mi was a good trade off for an older truck with all the options and more miles. I have had it for about 3 weeks now and I couldn’t be happier with my choice.
