OEM Brake Controller for 2018 F-150 STX 2.7L

I purchased a 2018 F-150 STX with the 2.7 Liter Twin Turbo. It did not come with an OEM Integrated Brake Controller, so I asked my dealer to install one at the time of my first service. They told me that it isn't possible on my truck due to no power pins on #24 fuse. They said some trucks don't come with those pins at that #24 fuse location. What is the solution to install an OEM Brake Controller? Or do I have to use an aftermarket controller?

There would be no solution if the location in the fuse box does not exist.

I find that hard to belive though. Have you checked your owners manual for fuse locations in the kick panel and the power distribution box under the hood?

The solution is a search on this website. There's a very detailed thread that explains everything you've ever wanted to know about the 2018 and TBC installation issues. If you can't find it with search look for my posts and it'll be one of those threads.

2012 f-350 brake controller

I have a 2012 350 xl and I’m looking to add the brake controller. I have found the part online (part#6C3Z-2C006-AA). I was wondering if that’s something I can do or does the ford dealership have to do this. I hope you don’t mind me piggybacking this post with my question.

you can buy the part and install it yourself. But to activate it, you will need the dealer's IDS system or forescan to make it live in the system.
Installing it yourself and of course purchasing it outside for the best price will save some bucks though.
