[left]Okay so I bought a 7.3 a week ago and never noticed this knock until after my fuel filter light came on so I checked the filter looked brand new but lots of sand in the fuel bowl cleaned it out then noticed a knock almost sounds like rod knock. Did a buzz test all sounds good did a contribution test it passed. I’m at about wits end with this truck.

By chance is the fuel level in the tank below 1/4 tank? Did you replace the fuel filter after the light came on? It is telling you that there is a restriction in the fuel system, or it is not getting fuel. That restriction is starving the injectors causing the injectors to knock.

 

 

 

Ever since I did stage 1's my injectors are way louder firing and sound sort of similar to what I just heard in this video. I don't think there is anything wrong with mine. I did have a loud knocking noise coming from the intake when I bend a push rod though.

 

I had a similar problem with mine. Had a weak fuel pump with a leak causing low fuel pressure causing fuel knock. Wound up rebuilding fuel bowl assembly while I was replacing the pump and that made all the difference. Like farmert says, any time you get water in fuel light you should replace filter.

 

 

hopefully the fuel filter stopped the rust from getting to the injectors
