Depressed with Ford
Hello,
I'm new to this site. Became a member out of formality and research. This will sound like a venting session but I want to state my ongoing experience with Ford Canada and Ford dealer on Vancouver island. My 2016 f350 6.7 super crew long box with 65000km had catastrophic engine failure on the hwy on a road trip 6 1/2 hours away with a 2 hour ferry rideincluded. The connecting rod put a hole thru the block after a bearing spun out. Hence the 1/4 mile oil trail. Had towed to local Ford dealer. They took 2 weeks just to get it into the shop for cost cap analysis. I understand they are busy but two weeks? They would not get me into a rental until they had warranty approval. I get that to. Got the approval two weeks ago and still havnt been reimbursed. I bought this truck for work and they max me out on a 35 a day Hyundai car rental. Hard to put lumber, tools and material into a Hyundai. Every ime I do a delivery or tool run I need to rent a van. Really slowing my jobs down as I gotta watch my expenses. Ford opts to put in a short block which I'm concerned about fragments in the heads etc. But the dealer ensured the heads are fine!?? . Hole in cast graphite iron block and no fragments anywhere else??? Another week goes by and they say they are delayed as they found a dent inside the oil pan and needed to order another. That pan should have been removed first thing on cost cap analysis and for fragment checks????!!!!! Why isn' the pan off by then????!!!! Another week goes by and they email me and not call and say they are at a halt as there is no engine gaskets avail at the warehouse or any Ford dealer in Canada. They do not know when it is avail???? I went to local dealer and they confirmed that. The most popular heavy duty truck and no parts avail??? They send me to Ford Customer Service to vent as I need a truck to work and they deny me a rental truck even based on the circumstances and say it' up to the dealer to deal with that. I get bounced back and forth from dealer to Ford Canada. I have had 3 f150 and 3 f350 super duties over the years and thought I was a Ford man for life. My experience with Ford Canada and a Ford dealer on the first time buying a new 65 thousand dollar truck for warranty repairs and I get the run around and the buck passed around. Im a day trip away to deal with things in person at the dealer and they have had the truck for a month. I'm now broke from paying for excess truck rentals. Jobs are behind. Can't do jobs and Ford and the dealer are not stepping up to the plate. I just want my truck back or simply a rental truck to replace the expensive one I bought do earn my living. I thought I was buying quality which I get it, crap happens but the fact that I'm not being taken care of as a customer and a working man that relies on his truck for a living is frustrating. I have to back my work as a contractor or I get no more work. I have to step up to the plate often. Why doesn' t Ford.
