Is there a trick to removing the parking brake shoes on this Navigator? I removed the bottom spring, but still couldn't get the shoes off, these are the tightest springs on brake shoes that I have ever encountered. I am replacing the pads and rotors all around the vehicle, I figured I would replace the parking brake shoes at the same time, but the old ones actually looked great, but just poorly adjusted, and I couldn't get the old ones off and it got dark, so I just put them all back together.

I still would like to replace them, but wanted to know if there was some sort of trick.

 

I don't have the 2008 only the 2007 parking brake procedure. Here take a look, I'm sure it's the same.
