Thumbs up CEL, HPOP pressure, and boost...have some questions

So finally got my old Edge Insight CS working on the 7.3 and had time to check numbers.

On my tow and hot street tunes (I am on stock injectors still to best of my knowledge), HPOP pressure showed 1500psi at WOT and IPR 61% around 3000rpm...to me it seems like I am in need of a new HPOP. It will hit 2600psi, then drop pretty quick. The ICP sensor leaks, so I am going to change that sooner than later to verify I am not receiving false readings. Can leaking injector orings cause a drop in HPOP pressure also? I have about 550psi hot idle and 11%.

I also found I had four CELs and one was lit in the dash by this testing:

P0238 - Overboosted around 25psi on street mode?
P0236 - Same as above
P0603 - due to the ECU's chip
P1211 - Low HPOP pressure

Do my findings for the codes sound okay? I am not too concerned about boost as my uppipes leak, but I was surprised to pass 25psi.

Thanks guys

The first two codes I just ignore. The 1211 can be a nightmare, I can still get it with stage I's in a hot tune. I use the adrenaline hpop from dieselsite and feel that its a 'touch' better then the T500. Hope I'm not starting an argument. Yes, it looks like you need a better hpop.

Swap that ;leaking ICP first before you worry about the HPOP. And yes, if your injector o-rings are leaking, that can most certainly contribute to low HPO pressures. 1600 psi is low, for sure, which is probably why it's setting the 1211 code. As Glenn said, the other codes can just be ignored.

The 15 degree HPOP's rarely fail. That's why the modified 17's are rebuilt to be like the 15 degree ones.

You're getting bad readings from the ICP which is giving your motor bad idea's on the IPR rate.

Drive the truck with the ICP sensor unplugged and I bet you'll see way different IPR numbers. 61% on stock injectors is a bit on the crazy side. hahaha.

Okay cool guys. I will start with the ICP and retest. Then do injector orings, I am leaning toward doing new sealant on the cups while in there so I can use ELC coolant instead of dicking with the SCAs.

Thanks again

dont mess with cups unless you absolutely have to.

These are in the realm of "aint broke dont fix it" territory.

Good to know, I will continue with SCA tests then as needed.

Just did HPOP lines, I just did not trust the factory ones anymore. One less failure point.

PS, this Fluidampr really makes this ol' 7.3 smooth even at 3200rpm.

I've read on here the Fluidampr is a really great upgrade. Never tried it but seems your experience is confirming that fact.

Without the ICP sensor , the PCM will have to assume ICP . 61 % is what the PCM is calling for .The IPR does not report to the PCM . ICP pressure is what is reported . He may just need an IPR O ring . THe small one
