That means your EEC relay is working. You may need a ignition module, if it's not sending out pulses the computer thinks the engine is not turning and will not activate the fuel pump relay. You guys need learn how to read the codes on these trucks, there is a good chance you have a code that says the pulses are missing from the ignition module. It's not hard to do, all you need is a testlight.

Still, the best thing to do with any computer-controlled engine is to ask the computer what it thinks is happening. After all, it's running the show.

I've no experience with your fuel injection system, but I did notice a few general things.

Your dead battery: Have you put it on a charger? Or are you trying to jumpstart the engine all this time? Do yourself a big favor and always start with a fully charged battery when troubleshooting. Some perfectly good components may misbehave due to low voltage.

Do you have an ignition problem or a fuel problem? I see you going back and forth between the two, chasing squirrels. You might get lucky that way eventually, but I highly doubt you've got two problems occurring at the same time. Since you had no response to starter fluid, that would point towards an ignition problem. It's quick and easy to verify if you've got a spark, so I'd suggest concentrating on that for the moment. No guarantee the timing is correct, but at the very minimum verify the presence of spark.

FWIW, respectfully submitted.

Let your computer tell you what it knows;

Engines are easier to diagnose over the internet when all the codes are listed, and in order of test.

KOEO - (O) Self-Test Codes =

KOEO - (C) Continuous Codes =

KOER - (R) Self-Test Codes =
