I've always used OEM pads on my Fords and have had great luck with them.

I have always used aftermarket pads with no problems. I have used Autozone and Advanced Auto store boxed pads with no problems. I use the upper quality/priced pads with lifetime warranty.

You have to remember, any Motorcraft part sold by the dealer was made by some company for Ford and it may have been the lowest bidder that could meet Ford/Motorcraft specs. Could be the same company products sold by your local part houses....

I bought a set of Performance Friction carbon fiber pads once for an older truck. They worked ok but produced excessive dust in my opinion. I will not be looking at carbon fiber pads when I replace them on my 2015.

I asked the same question last year after a panic stop with my camper on almost landed me in the back seat of the idiot in front of me...

i ended up buying a set set of Hawk LTS pads and am very happy. A significant upgrade.
they make an even heavier duty pad but it takes too much heat before they bite...

Curious as to how long the pads last in these trucks? Guess I need to pull the wheels and do a visual to see how mine are doing.

I've got 53K on my truck with factory pads and last time I went to the dealer to get my truck serviced they said I was gonna need to be replacing my pads soon. Wife says I'm a little aggressive with my breaking though. Lol

You need to at least grease the slide pins or the caliper will lock up and destroy the rotors. Anytime you get in there for a look. put some grease on the pin.

Mine fronts were gone at 80,000

They still have problems with slide pins sticking? Guess I need to check mine then.

How long they last is a simple but very variable factor of just how/where we drive. I'm just about ready to turn 60k on the originals and need to throw an eye on them and take a good look. How long yours will last will certainly vary but I do a lot of highway driving towing a travel trailer weighing in at 8,000#. A lot of town driving I'd begin checking them much sooner and expect to replace sooner too. I'll go with Ford pads if they'll go 60k for me.

I'm a fan of CarQuest Platinum brake pads. They come with new hardware which is very important for me.

I'm aware of that part, but how well the 4 wheel ABS is balanced also plays into factor here. If there was an issue to watch out for, then everyone would have been chiming in saying the fronts go in XXX and the backs go forever, or something along those lines.

I'm pushing 50k with no issues yet, but I'll be replacing with Hawk or EBC when the time comes. I used to get over 100k out of my last trucks brakes, but it was a stick, so I expect these to go quicker.

I get better results now with the improved Ford OEM brakes since 2013? I think.. before that my calipers would freeze at 22k miles again at 36k etc. wiping out the discs. This 2016 got 90 and all has been great ..they're getting low but have performed well. I'll go with Wagner thermo Quiets..

I've searched for the Hawk LTS pads for my 2015 F250 6.7 and can't find the Hawk LTS pads for our trucks, the Hawk Super Duty always pop up. Can you suggest a certain part number and where you ordered yours?
