one good thing is all the rust and rot made it a lot lighter.
and i will also say, that is the worst rot i have ever seen on a burban too.

it was a combo of factors... it was used in the rust belt up till 89... but when it rolled onto the roof in 89 it did a number on the paint for sure (yes a captain obvious statement there).. since 2002 its just been sitting with tarps on and off of it.. so the rain wasnt really getting evaporated away like it would if it were uncovered.. thats part of why we got the 85 was to make a good one out of the 2..

You are going to want to invest in a ****** block. Twice the pulling power and a lot easier on the winch. The instructions probably talk about giving the winch a break and they wouldn't be kidding, heat is it's worst enemy. I've burned my Ramsey out more than once. I buy parts from U.S. Winch. They are reasonable on stuff and have some used parts as well. Let us know how it holds up for you.

i was wishing i had one this past weekend...

book says 45sec pull time at full load.. with 20 min cool time.. but i dont plan to ever be at the max load.. which is why i bought the 12,000lb one.. despite all the pulling i did last weekend i kept checking the motor side of the unit.. it never even got warm.. i was very happy with how well it did.. the only annoyance i had with it, was the line kept trying to load up in one spot till it pushed the solenoid box off the top... thought the bar that sat on top of the coiled line was supposed to prevent that.. but apparently not..

would end up pulling for a bit then drag the line out to hand feed it back onto the spool.. before i could resume pulling on the burb again..

Lil dually said she wanted to play moving truck yesterday...

I told her to go move the building on the back of our new property..

Lil dually said Challenge Accepted...

It moved a bit...

then a little bit further

then it needed to turn a bit...

then we had to reposition to pull it back into the last spot..

new 6 ton ****** block came in handy worked like a dream...

almost there...

there we go..

little bit of block leveling..

Thanks Chris.... wish i could figure out a way to get the line to spool straight... it keeps wanting to build on top of itself till it pushes the box of solenoids off the top of the winch..

I don't own a truck anymore. The motorhome is a big POS and has been in Indiana for the last 8 months at the factory.
