iPad problem-pop up and redirect to win $1000 Amazon

I’ve been getting this for a few days. When I go to this site “FTE” after a few seconds a pop up comes up and says “Congratulations!”, then redirects you to a fake amazon looking site. You can’t go back to this site using the back button. It happens logged in or not. Apple support has some threads on this and it might be a rouge site your advertising agent uses. Ive tried everything and cleared everything. Only way to use this site is to disable JavaScript in safari then enable it when I leave. To do this go to settings, safari, advanced, disable java. Please post if you find out anything. Thanks.

From IB a bit earlier

This is an ongoing issue that affects ALL publishers across the entirety of the internet, not just Internet Brands. The problem is so severe that advertising publishers and partners now are discussing strategies on how to stop "rogue" bidders from taking over phone screens as it's seriously affecting all parties involved. This isn't something we can address and fix unless we forego 100% of the ads altogether.

Obviously this is an answer nobody likes (including us), but it is the unfortunate reality for the moment.

Old screenshots from the summer are pointless, because they are no longer the ads being served. Advertising space is usually sold in month-long intervals, so even screenshots from February would not be helpful for us in getting them blocked.

Yup agree same issue with my Apple devices. It was so bad the other day I couldn't even log in due to the 1000$ pop up. I now just use garage talk to use forum. Not the best but works.

I’m on around 6 forums that I have logins for and this is the only one that does that. Now that said Xbox live went out this week and when I went to see if anyone else was having a problem and went to the site Down Detector and they had the same pop up.

Please know that it is so bad you can not log in here or use the site!

To use the site I turn off JAVA scripting before I enter and then turn it back on after I leave.

I’ve read about some apps like 1blocker and Adblock. I might try one and see. Do a search for iPad-congratulations -amazon to see some threads on this.

It’s a pain but I really enjoy this site so it’s worth it.

Definitely recommend an ad-block. We've known about this problem since Christmas.
