buying 35 inch tires for x and c code does anyone know of any good deals for tires and rims

I dont think 35s will fit on stock rims will they?

My excursion is driven a hundred miles a day on good roads (5 of those are dirt / bad roads)

Tire buyer has these that are teh same size as Krazee Matt from the bf goodrich review forum so I assume they will fit

https://www.tirebuyer.com/tires/size/35-12.50-18

I'd really like to go as cheap a 35 inch tire thats safe as I can right now and get better ones later. Since i'm having to buy rims to fit the 35s and pay to have the springs put on too

MY x and c code springs should be in from ATS for my 2004 6.0 excursion in a couple days and I need to buy tires (the old ones are shot anyway). I was planning on getting 35 inch.

I searched here for "tires for x code, tires for c code, upgrading tires," looked in the tech folder under the wheel thread, and I cant find out if 35s will fit on the stock excursion rims.

The first thread on the bf goodrich thread was crazy matt and his 35s. They range from 1800 to a thousand.

Can anyone recommend a deal on 35s thats going on now, online, in chain stores or anywhere? I guess I will have to buy new wheels also.

tirereack.com has kumhos for about a grand for 4
https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...omCompare1=yes

these firestones are under 1200 for four
https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...omCompare1=yes

But it looks like these have softer tread for off road. Which I dont really need. I would just like to have tires that will match the size of the excursion with x and c code springs, and I think 35s look the best.

If anyone can help me save some money other than telling me to get smaller tires that dont need new rims to fit I would appreciate it.

Is there a Discount Tire store near you? They will price match anyone and are tough to beat for customer service. They are the only tire store I use because their warranty and no matter where you are and need a tire they are probably not far away.
I think for a 12.5” wide tire you need at least a 10” wide rim.

Have you checked your local discount tire stores? Junk Yards and Craigslist for some lightly used tires? You might find some good deals there too. I found a set of 2015 wheels with very good tires (<10K miles) for $600 on CL. These are on my EX for now. I'm looking out for a set of 20" wheels, but, they will have to wait until the current set are up for replacement.

Chances are Discount Tire can get those rims for you.

Like mentioned above...8x170mm. Also, you MUST have the right back spacing. 05+ backspacing without spacers will cause the tires to rub the springs when turning.

Very cool! I should've asked that to begin with. If I can save 8 the hundred or $1,000 using the stock rims now is the time I'm spending a lot on the Excursion now for me

Ive read 315s will fit on stock rims no lift with minimal rubbing.

Could I go to Discount Tire and put 35 on my stock rims and no lift right now while I'm waiting for my Springs to come in from ATS?

They shipped out yesterday sent to Miami Oklahoma so I'll probably put four or six hundred miles on the 35 before I got my springs.

And I do that or would it be undrivable before I got the springs due to the size of the 35

Why not shop CL and get f250/350 take off wheels and tires. The tires will be cheaper then sell the wheels on.

Should be able to get a set new for 600-700

After another member in this thread asked about CL I looked. I may not be using the right search terms but I could find none.

I didn't use keyword f250 or f350 though will try again

tulsa.craigslist.org/pts/d/f250-wheels-tires/6466038755.html

These are 400$ for 18 inch rims and tires. I can't tell how good that tread is, but they may be good

I just called Discount Tire and he said that he wouldn't Mount 35 inch tires on my rims because they were 7 inch WYD wide
I have a 2004 4 wheel drive 6.0 diesel and I thought that all of those were Eddie Bauer edition and I'm pretty sure mine's Eddie Bauer edition but I don't have it outside right now. So I told him I had an Eddie Bauer edition that's when he said there are 7 inches wide.Pirate4x4 if you tell me that I can put 35 inch tires on my 7 inch wide wheels I will do it now I just want to hear from you again to make sure please if you don't mind.

You asked if 35” tires would fit on stock rims but didn’t specify the width of tire.
