We need solid numbers on ICP and FIPW AND VOLTAGE DURING CRANKING also cranking RPM. I am wondering if PATS isn't keeping it from starting. If it is the PATS system then you will still have good ICP but no FIPW.

Yeah an Excursion thing. PATS- Passive anti theft system will allow a crank no start with good ICP and fuel pressure just kills the FIPW to keep it from firing.

I have a scangauge 2. I watched icp,rpm,volts and ipr
values while cranking icp 2326..rpm 125-133..volts 11.5..ipr 32.5, I can't get fipw values. What would be the most economical way to monitor fipw

I might be off but I'm thinking your RPM's are low there, anyone else?

Cranking speed should still let it fire at that speed.
You can get torquepro or Forscan and run it on your smartphone or tablet with an adapter to plug into the truck to read FIPW. Does your theft light come on when you turn the key on?

There is no theft light on while cranking. Theft lite works Koeo it is lit.

I am am wondering if I have a parasitic draw on the batteries. This may be a somewhat new problem unrelated problem. I had the charger on it overnight again. I have probably cranked on it 15-20 times today. I was trying to video the scangauge earlier and for some reason video wasn't working at first. I installed the batteries aug 2015. As a real test this winter we went on vacation. The ex sat outside at the airport for a week in sub zero temps. I cycled the glow plugs twice and it started.

Thanks ill I'll check out that link.

Does the theft light go out after 5-10 seconds with the key turned on, before attempting to crank over?

I think I have either double checked or replaced alll of the easy stuff. Except the batteries. I don't think the batteries made it die. I don't have any experience with the valve cover pigtails. I've never had the valve covers off of any motor. A link to a good write up there would be great. I don't think it's injectors. The ex has 115k miles on it. I bought it at 68k and I have maintained it well. It has never impressed me with power or great mileage. But as far as I know has always been stock. It has always started, I don't think it has ever run rough. It needs up pipes and this no start figured out.

I recently replaced the passenger side fuel line as it was leaking. The most involved repair on these I have made was the uppies on my work truck.

Im going to do some honey does for the wife and will check back it.

thanks again for the help,
B

yes the light goes out with the other lights,

one thing i definitely notice is s clicking clicking at the fuse panel. I don't notice this in my other 7.3. I'll see if I can post audio or video of it.

Ok the theft light is flashing! I used the key fob I tried lock and unlock and it was still flashing. I hadn't noticed this before.
