New 87 f150

Hello all, I just recently bought a new to me 87 f150. Short bed flareside, 4 speed 4x4. 4.9L runs okay, have a few issues to sort out, hopefully with the help of this forum. The truck idles way high, about 1500 rpms. My first thought was vacuum leak. So I started looking close, and I habe a harder time finding a vacuum line actually hooked up than I do a missing or broken one. Anyone have a diagram? Mine is missing. Also, they have a k&n filter directly connected to the throttle body. Should I find the stock box and tubes and hook her back up or just leave the filter? And finally, there is a ton of wire connectors dangling and not hooked up. Was hoping for a diagram or some detailed pics of another members 87 300i6 underhood to use as a guide. Thanks a bunch! I'l post some pics tomorrow in the daylight.

Welcome to the Bricknose side of things.
I've had a wide variety of ford trucks throughout the years and can tell you that I myself don't have the diagrams your looking for, however this is something that many members have asked for in the past. You should be able to Google this request and find an abundant amount of diagrams, pics and info on this from inside and outside this wonderful forum.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Also, if you want to pop the hood and post up some pictures I'm sure you'll get some bites on you questions.

I myself would make a junk yard run and grab a factory air box while at the same time taking a peek around under the hood of said truck to find out where things go. Or now would be a good time to switch over from Speed Density to MAF.
