Front and rear tires cupping inside

About 7k miles ago I put on 4 new Bilstein shocks and a rear sway bar. Now my front tires are cupping on inside and the tears are doing the same. Running 265 65 16 Cooper discovery at. Had both upper and lower ball joints done last year and had it aligned. Front wheels have a small amount of up and down movement in them but nothing I think is a worry.

Any thoughts.

Post pics of the wear pattern. Not sure what you mean by cupping.
Tires will wear from simply not rotating them.
I got the exact same tires you did, just about 7,000 miles ago and noticed some feathering.
I don’t think your shocks nor sway bar could cause tire wear at all, much less in 7500 miles.

Cupping as in one tread is up and the next is down. Like sawtooth.

Cupping of the rear tires can only be caused by worn out shocks which allow the tires to bounce, on the front that could also be the cause but so could any of the suspension or steering components if they are worn.

Ok. Thank you. Shocks in front and rear are brand new bilsteins.

I didn’t know if anyone had seen this with an oversized tire. I have 265 65 16 on it.

Correction: I have the same type of tires as you, but different size.
I think you just need to rotate and balance them more often. Those tires look pretty old, and probably started that wear pattern before you put on the shocks and sway bar.

Also, these vans are critical about tire pressure. Check the door tag to see what the recommended pressures are. Most tire stores will under inflate them.

Also, even the half ton vans spec XL (Extra-Load) rated tires. If these are standard, P series, tires they are likely to be over loaded.

I had something similar.

The shop that installed my shocks did not install bushings for one of them.

Check bushings. Easy enough and you can check something off the list.

Careful with that, the tire pressure ratings on the door are for carrying the maximum weight the vehicle is rated for and even then only applies if the current tires are the same load rating as the originals.
That said tire pressure is something that should be checked regularly, if the tires are badly over or under inflated uneven tire wear will occur.
