2003 F150 radio will not work outside of park or neutral

Like the title says the radio in my 2003 F150 will not function unless the truck is in park or neutral. I have also noticed that the blower motor for the heat/ac will sometimes stay on after I shut the truck off until I turn the vent selection to the off position. I don't know if these issues are related or not. Everything else seems to be functioning as intended. Does anyone have any ideas?

Same issue

Mine does the same exact thing, and the other day I forgot to shut the heat off and it drained my battery.

We had a nice thaw and everything seems to be working as it should again. I did notice that before my issues started there was a LOT of ice built up inside of the driver side door jam, like the entire jam was an icicle. I also removed the black cover from the fuse block a few days prior to my issue fixing itself. I now turn the heat/ac to off every time I shut the truck off to hopefully avoid a dead battery in the future .

Rain also seems to make it worse

I noticed that I have a small leak coming in over the drivers side (oh shoot) handle it may be my windshield or door leaking. Sometimes the radio does work in drive but not when it rains.

I had windshield leak problems that would only show up after a automatic car wash blower would dry the truck. I pulled off the windshields outer trim, cleaned as much dirt as I could from the glass to body area and used flow-able silicone to reseal the leaks. That was 3 years ago, no leaks since.

Justin, there have been several instances of this happening.. normally prior to 2003 trucks. Windshield leaks and drips on the electrical... After a period of time you get corrosion and shorting out and several things can happen to the lights / radio/ horn / wipers/ etc... Keep it dry and replace the windshield gasket or try to seal as Lime said.. Too many occurances and it will eventually fail for good.
