'08-'16 Tow mirror swap??

I did mine several years ago using OEM take offs I found on Ebay.

My truck is a L99 F350.

I knew from the start that my switch would be backwards for controlling the right/left adjustment.

My question now is, has anyone fixed this by switching wires at the switch?

I have heard about folks taking the mirrors apart and switching wires inside...

I really think doing it at the switch is the proper way.....

This is an extremely popular upgrade (have done them to three of my trucks) and there are pics and how-to's in the tech forum, but I've never heard about anyone having a switch that's backwards for controlling right/left? Seems like you have a problem not related to the newer style mirrors that needs rectified.

there was 1 version of the mirror that the wires had to be swapped on. I read a post about it a while back, but I don't recall the specifics. May have been a bad mirror or crappy QC. Every other instance of them have been a direct swap

I used adaptors purchased online for the movement of the mirrors themselves, used a 4 flat trailer connector as suggested for the running lights, signals, heat and ground....

Like I say the mirrors were 2014 take offs and were brand new.....

Wonder if I got "bad" adaptors?

I think you'd have to switch them in the mirror. 1 wire does up down and the other does left right. The third is the power feed. If you swapped them at the switch, then up and down on the switch would move the mirror left and right. Switching them in the mirror keeps the directions separate, but reverses the polarity that the motor sees to make them do what you want.
