Yeah, I agree it makes sense to replace the 6.8. I doubt we see it in the 250 or 350.

Yeah called this too. I didn't figure it would replace the 6.2. It would be neat if they had it as an additional gas engine choice like they used to with the 5.4 but the 6.2 does so well it really is not needed.

I'm kind of torn. I'd love more power (who wouldn't?), but despite the pushrods, it'll be hard to build on the 6.2's success, especially in terms of reliability and durability in the HD segment.

Yeah it would be sweet don't get me wrong I like big motors too! I wouldn't be too happy if they throw it in the f250 or f350. I would have waited. Oh well can't win em all. Yay to Ford for bringing back a big cubic inch V8.

No replacement for non direct injection, displacement on demand, and every other thing they will install on the next engine to make it unreliable...

6.2 makes decent power when allowed to spin fast, gets crappy mileage, but takes 6qts of oil and last forever with no maintenance, that makes for a cheap reliable combo.

I love big cubic inch and I am sure we could have a lot more power and the same ****ty mileage with a much bigger version of the 6.2 but the EPA would never allow that.

EPA does not care as long at it meets the anti-dirt requirements...

its CAFE.. that wants little engines... and electric/battery power.

I know--------- Same Gov-ment.

I like the idea of them putting it in something other than the 250-350.
Proof it in something else. Couple years I'll look into it.

From many posts in this forum (surely you've read them?). And I wasn't stating pushrods as fact, but it is the general conjecture.
