yes, that can be done. A couple inches difference in wheelbase you need to deal with and a couple inches in frame width so the bed mounting holes do not line up. The cab mounts are the same.

There are also differences in the dash wiring and the steering column wiring. Nothing that can't be overcome with a little patience and good wiring schematics though. Another way to do it would be to pull the running gear out of the 68 and drop it in the 76. If you have another vehicle to drive while the swap happens that would take some pressure off of you. Either way it will probably not be a get it done in a weekend job. Like willowbe3 said it can be done and would be cool to get the old family truck back on the road. That would be something for you to be proud of. I say go for it.
Mark.

Oh, and I can't help myself here but "bare with me" basically means let's get naked together. I think you meant bear with me, or at least I hope so,lol.

Why? just get the 76 running again. Better brakes, 8 years newer, etc.

Honeslty it was a wild hair question and i was just contemplating a fast way to get the dentside going. After about a day i realixed that wasnt a fast way at all and like you said, the 76 already has disc brakes. And no.... noone "bare with me" at all on here!!! Ive decided to try and trade the 68 for another dentside and go from there. .... if anyone interested currently looking at trading for abdually dentside with a 460 and c6 and start swapping engine tranny and so on. More so swapping wverything into my current 76.

I mean no disrespect and i dont want to insult anyone. Not trying to get political either. I just have to step in and ask that we all try to remember that the "R " work is not a nice word. There are words we should not use because they are offensive. Thanks. This forum is great and i read it twice a day.
