It is a 302 but from the number D20E-6015-ab some must be able to find out which vehicle it came from and how many hp

The first four positions should read D2OE. The O means Fairlane/Torino from what I've found online. What is the date code on the block? You can also check to see if a partial vin was stamped on the back of the block.

Partial VIN locations:

If they want to know how much horsepower it has assemble it then take it to a dyno.

Can your local Ford dealer help with any of this?

He is in Denmark so his Ford dealer is of no use as this is an American engine. In Europe, the government controls everything restricting any changes made to vehicles. I was stationed in Germany for 5 years so I know how it is. With a block casting code and date code, the date can be narrowed down for the horsepower of the engine at that time.

A "D2" casting date would be for the model year 1972.

Through '71, Ford rated the engines in gross horsepower. '69-'71 302s were rated at 210 horsepower with 295 lb-ft of torque.

From '72 onward, Ford rated the engines in net horsepower. A '72-'80 302 was rated at 135 hp and 243 lb-ft of torque.
