Is there another name for this solenoid? I can't seem to find it anywhere. I am also looking to replace the other part next to the solenoid, what is that used for?

starter solenoid on rock auto web site. All Ford cars had them from 60s till 90s.
Part next to the solenoid is a relay there used where more voltage or heavy duty fuse link

The original tall box points style voltage regulator had been replaced by a more modern electronic style years ago. This electronic style is still available from Ford. Part number F0PZ10316A.
The starter solenoid is also still available from Ford. It is part number B6AZ11450B.
Try getting those brand new from Chevrolet still. Eat your heart out Chebbie boys.
The relay next to the starter solenoid is actually the horn relay. That was part number C4AZ13853A. Discontinued.
The C4AZ13853A can be bought from:

On another note............I recently bought new coiled brake line to redo my lines, I bought the 3/16 nickel/copper line that came with some fittings. Anywho, can I use this type of line to redo the transmission cooler lines that go from the tranny to the bottom of the radiator? Just trying to kill two birds with one stone here,

Power Steering

Can anyone tell by the pictures if this is a Bendix or Ford

power steering gear box? I appears that the prior PO swapped out the front drums, power steering, and column from a 78' truck. Well, the power steering reservior is completely empty and it looks like the seals are shot. Just wondering if there is a direct replacement that won't break the bank or if I should by a rebuild kit. Can I use this for a replacement? I also want to replace the pressure line hose so knowing which one to buy is definately helpful.

Thanks for the compliment. I've been a Ford Parts Man since 1977. Still am. So I've picked up a thing or two over the years.
Looks to be a Ford/Saginaw design to me. The lower of the 2 pics below is of a Bendix.

Does anyone think that this steering column could be integrated into the ford wiring harness? Would have to figure out the length needed though.

It won't mount to your current brace, you can go with aftermarket hangers just remember the brace on the firewall. It will wind up costing you more money and will be lower in your lap than your current column due to the aftermarket hangers. I went with an iDidit tilt column, more money but it bolted straight in.

This is the GM column that I returned, notice the space around the brace

I am 6ft 230, plenty of room with the tilt column

For a little extra IDidit can customize it and make it even shorter

This column comes in 28”, 30”, and 32” lengths so I don’t think the length would be an issue. I can just measure the column in my truck currently. I would like to replace the rag joint to something else as well.
