1979 Bronco tailgate glass motor
Just helpful info only. I ordered a A1-Cardone select 82-32 from Amazon for my 1979 Bronco tailgate glass motor and it bolted right in with no modifications and is faster than my old stock one. I did not have to remove the glass but my hands got scrapped up a bit. If you know how to hot wire and bypass a few things it is not as bad as people say. 1978 Bronco should be the same but 1980 and up I have no clue.

the bronco window motors last a very long time. Its usually the bushings inside the gear housing get hot and break down/melt. I wish I still had pics of some I have opened up. They used plastic bushings and they melt and become a hard paste and destroy the gears. Take your gear to ace hardware and pic up a few stainless steel ball bearings that fit. Some high quality grease. and you will not have an issue ever again

crtjester9 is 100% correct. This is exactly what was wrong with mine. You can easily fix these with many methods I have read online from 1/4 nuts to cable clamp ends. You can also still get rebuild kits for these on Amazon. Dorman makes the 3 drive bushing/plugs only for $11 and they also have a kit that comes with the 3 bushings/plugs plus the plastic gear for $15-$20. However my motor was very slow going down and even slower going up. The new one I spoke of above fixed everything and is twice as fast.
