Truck's tare weight is ~6700lbs

The truck in my sig, with me in it, and a 1/2 tank of gas came in at 3170kgs, or ~7000lbs.

Minus me, ~180lbs, and a roughly 100lbs of gear puts the tare weight of the truck around 6700lbs.

Just FYI, nothing more.

My 99 cc psd 4x4 long box 6spd manual t-case xlt with 38 radial swampers and 8" lift with full tank of diesel and me in the seat is 7750 lbs. I had a bet with my brother and I guessed 7700. Not bad I thought

If you read the origonal post by Waxy you will see that it says "FYI, nothing more." I guess there's no story here. Feel free to move along and ignore us.

A lot of us are curious how much our trucks weigh. The question gets asked all the time. So even though at first glance it may seem like wasted space, it isn't.

King I went to a CAT scale and they charged me 9 bucks to weigh the truck then re-weigh the truck and camper. 1 time is 8 bucks.

I had a tire come off my camper and all 6 lugs broke the camper is 3 months old so I wanted proff that I was not over loaded! That's why I did it but I always wanted to know.

Out here you can just stop at any weigh station when they're closed, which they are about 3/4 of the time, and the weight is displayed on a sign that you can read from your cab. You don't even have to get out. I grew up within a mile of one and have always weighed my rigs just for curiosity sake.

If you want some documentation though like daimon says use a Cat scale at a truck stop.

Truck's tare weight is ~6700lbs

If we're just wastin' space:

Here are my numbers in pounds (for all you metrically challenged):

GVWR: 11,200

Truck: 6720
Camper: 3440

Total: 10,160

FAWR: 4250
Actual: 3880

RAWR: 8250
Actual: 6440

The axle weights above are the posted maximums and the "actual" load on the axles with the camper on the truck.

The truck was weighed at a commercial scale with a full tank of fuel, and the camper was fully loaded (except for the normal stuff that's kept in the 'frig), and both holding tanks were full (water only). I didn't fill the domestic water tank as we only travel with enough for emergency toilet use.

With a total weight of 10,160 and a GVWR rating of 11,200, I'm left with 1040lb to spare.

I think you need to find a scale that is large enough to weigh the whole truck. weighing axles and adding the results will give you a false reading.

The scale I went to normally weighs gravel trucks and trailers to determine how much product is being sold. They charged me $14CDN and supplied a copy of the scale ticket showing all the weights for me to carry in the truck.
