Rear door automatic lock

I have a 2013 F250 crew cab. The DS rear door will not lock automatically, either from the button inside or the key pad. The other three locks work fine. The problem door will lock if you manually pull up or push down on the "black" tab. I have pulled the actuator and the motor with mechanism work forward and reverse if I put 12 volts and ground to the two pins; respectively. I can not confirm if I am getting the proper power to these pins (plug). Can anyone help me with this one? Is there any sensor in the door that can be bad not allowing the actuator to work? Thank you

No sensor in the door to prevent it from working. You need to check the wiring to see if you are getting a pulse on the wires. One side should pulse for lock, the other side for unlock. Usually you can see a test light illuminate with the pulse. If no illumination, then you need to track the wiring back to the point you can get a pulse. You may have pinched a wire in the trough under the driver door sill cover.

see this problem a lot... mine were doing the same thing did this and they work. It’s free beats buying new ones. People say this fix doesn’t last long but I did it almost 2yrs ago still work like new. Give it a shot and report back

Question: If one wire pulses "unlock" and the other wire pulses "lock" do the wires switch from a positive to ground depending on which way the motor is turning? Or, is the motor grounded itself. Again, If I put 12 volts directly to the motor it will turn both directions (depending on polarity) when I bench tested it. I believe this eliminates any problem with the motor itself.

Thank you for your reply
