Moving wiper motor

My Truck club is working on a 1960 Ford pickup. We are putting on a large motor and need to move the wiper motor to the side. Any suggestions?

PLEASE tell us that you won't put in a large motor that has a distributor on the back. Please, dear Lord....

Not my choice but yes you are correct. I’m the only ford owner in the club.

Ask the other members if they would put a Ford motor in a Chevy and watch the contorted looks on their faces.

Local rod club built a gorgeous 48, put a sbc engine. They won't even open the hood when they take it out anymore.
I think you are on your own here.
I think it would be easier to eliminate the distributor and go to a crank trigger with something like a Longacre coil pack.

I put a SBC in my 60. Don't listen to them- you do what you want. With my wiper motor- I had to modify the firewall- actually cut it out and made a new one that allowed room for distributor. Takes time, but can be done.

Wait til the nay sayer's see what is going in the 60 this year....

Newport Engineering offers a conversion kit that moves the motor inside the cab. That should free up the space you need. Try this link: www.newportwipers.com

I have been looking at doing that for quite some time, I may need to to clear my air breather since my engine sits so far back. Either that, or a different style breather that relocated the filter.
