2017 F250 2.5" to 2" Sleeve Adapter?

I read somewhere in the forum before that Ford included the reducer sleeve. I can't find mind. Anyone know if they are indeed included and if so where Ford stashed it?

Thanks!

It should have been included. Look under the back seat. If it isn't there then get the dealer to replace it.

Thanks for that. I checked and can't find mine. The dealer I purchased from is 2,000 miles away so not sure what I'll do.

It won't hurt to ask them about it. You never know what you can get unless you ask. If that doesn't pan out, eTrailer.com sells reducer sleeves.

Mine was installed in the receiver with pin and hairpin. Lost it 2 months later when I pulled the ball mount and didn't replace the pin. Got a replacement at the local tractor supply for $10

Thanks guys, yup I checked if was already there, but no such thing. I sent a note to dealer, will chase them tomorrow. I saw some sleeves for sale locally from Reese but label said do NOT use with WD hitch, so will wait for right one. Appreciate your replies.

You may find any of the sleeves are marked not for WD use. My Reese Titan recommends not using a reducer with the WD hitch. Some of the reducers I have seen I would not use, however a reducer that was solid and a somewhat snug fit I think would be okay if you are not towing too heavy. I don't worry about it as I have a 2.5 in drawbar on my WD hitch and my heaviest trailer is a 5'r.

When a reducer is used you don't get the full 18K capacity on the SRW truck. I chose to upgrade to a 3" WDH instead of using the 2" WDH and reducers.

Home Depot carries them now too. We’ve been through more than a couple at work.

OT, but what exactly does the reducer actually do other than a reducer to using a standard 2" hitch? I havent seen a 3" ball hitch in any store in my area.

The sleeve gives you the ability to run any size ball mount.

3" ball mounts are hard to come by. A 3" WDH is even more of a Unicorn. Weigh Safe has one of the more popular 3" ball mounts. Andersen Hitches has one of the few 3" WDH.

Ah ok, I never understood why all of the Big 3 manufactures went with that size when the standard 2" receiver has worked great.

The 3" receiver has more load carrying capacity.

First time pulling my camper was this weekend just across the street to set it up. Today while driving I started wondering if I put the pin back in. I was heading back to the camper to put the propane tank I filled up back in. I pulled in to the storage lot and there at the keypad was my sleeve. It must have come out as I was leaving 2 days ago and some kind person left it there. I grabbed and thanked the sleeve gods.

I think I will get a backup sleeve just in case. I'd change my shank to a 2.5" but mine is longer so I can still open the tailgate and I'd rather keep it that way for now.
