up pipes and the like!

Hello all,

So it started with a real bad oil leak around the HPOP, which then turned into removing the turbo and ordering a new pedestal w/o EBPV, which moved to pulling motor to do the oil pan!!! So now I have ordered a new oil cooler, and all orings to go with everything.. I am no looking at doing the up pipes and possible the manifolds. Truck is a 99.5 f350 with 210k miles. I have read that the International up pipes are great but at over $400 at Dieseloring.com, I think i am putting a little too much into the rebuild.. someone posted some good words back in 2015 about up pipes form PDR diesel. At $272, they look good. I see so many different ones on amazon and other sites that I can't make out what is china garbage and what could be good to use.. any help would be greatly appreciated.. also what else should i do now that motor is out of the truck?
thanks in advance

Most of us have gone with Dorman up pipes, but some went with International. RiffRaff is a good source for them.

I went with Riff Raffs bellowed pipes on my E99. Clay was the cheapest I could find. I personally didn't consider the Dormans as an option for me. As Sous said, a lot have used them with good success.

No one but Riffraff has taken the time to make them for the Early 99 since they are different than OBS and 99.5-03.

The ones Dieselorings sell are made by Riffraff Diesel. You will notice Riffraff’s watermark right on the picture. Same picture on both sites.

Riffraff has the best price on the International that are made in the USA. Anything besides International comes from China. So if your going to go with something besides international just get the cheapest you can on like Amazon for $120 so if you have to replace them again you aren’t wasting money. All the other sites that call them their own or by different names are just trying to get more profit out of them, but in the end they are all Chinese junk.

Well, a lot of folks have good luck with the cheaper ones. I did the Dormans couple of years ago, still fighting with how the driver's side matches with the manifold. A little off and can't get it to stop leaking. Just Ebay'd a 60 dollar set, same issue with the match up. (Just tried the drivers up pipe). Guess the collector is a little off? Probably will bite the bullet soon and get one from Clay.

I also can't get my drivers side Dorman up pipes to stop leaking at the manifold.

Sorry you are in the same boat, probably more out there that just don't want to admit it.
I guess my last ditch effort might be to take to a shop and see if someone can weld up a fix.
I am at least thankful it is the driver's side, much easier to r and r than the passenger side.

Tom.
