2008 Navigator rear end slipping

New here, trying to figure out a problem. Started two days ago, when you turn right or left it feels like the rear drivers tire starts slipping and/or jerking from a stopped position. Going straight it doesn't do it, so as you turn it starts. Is the rear end limited slip? Could it be that going out? It is the all wheel drive.

Thanks, Kurt

Sounds like a limited slip that's locking up. The simple solution is a fluid change along with a new bottle or 2 of friction modifier.

Yes, try changing the rear axle oil and add new friction modifier. As often as not however, you'll have to replace the clutches to fix it. The 9.75" axle is notorious for poor clutch life. If you end up having to replace the clutches, give serious consideration to just changing out the entire diff. unit with an Eaton Truetrac. It'll never wear out (OK maybe in 500,000 mi) and requires no oil additives.

Ok, this is strange. Went out to start it, it was dead. Jumped it and it has stopped doing it. I'm confused now, but if it was mechanical, it couldn't just fix itself. Do you think the computer played a role into it? I can drive it now, up to 30 miles an hour. I didn't want to go any faster. Made hard turns and it didn't do it. Does the computer run the limited slip rear end? I took the battery cables off and cleaned them very well and then placed them back on after 30 minutes. Before a take it to the dealer to get a diagnostic test on it, hopefully someone has heard about this before. Stumped here in Texas

I'm more inclined to blame heat as having a role rather than the computer.
