Boca Raton Concours d'Elegance

Might not sleep well sat. night Feb. 24 . Am already excited to be personally invited by Steve Moskowitz Exec. Director of the AACA to represent the '50's center stage among the "Cars Through the Decades " at this very well know & elegant show comparable to Pebble Beach & Amelia Island . . Guest judges on Sunday are Tim Allen & Jay Leno , Grand Marshall Wayne Carini , Master of Ceremonies Tom Dupont & Bill Rothermel , Chief Judge Dr. Paul Sable along w/ supporting judges Steve Moskowitz & Jay Quail , . Although I do not believe the vehicles representing the "Cars Through the Decades " will be judged based on AACA criteria I am sure they will draw much attention .
This is right up there on the bucket list along w/ getting handed the Best Truck Award from "Big Daddy " Don Garlits at his show 11-4-17 .
Am considering attending the AACA winter meet Feb 2019 in Ocala Fla.

Post as many pictures as you can handle. Then after that hire a photographer and a personal assistant to take and post yet more photos.

Good luck Denny. I wonder if those judges know anything about '48-'56 Ford Trucks? If not we could nominate several people here from this FTE forum. I assume that you are taking you stock truck?

It’s nice to see that the “meat & potato” guys, i.e., Leno & Allen, will be attending. Leno has talked about the level of scrutiny the judges have for vehicle correctness at the Pebble Beach event. Since both are “hands-on” drivers from humble beginnings, I find it curious that they will be attending. My guess is that they will offer some amusement on car critique for us common folk to enjoy.

Lots of politics involved also. It was interesting here at Meadowbrook when Bob Lutz was chief judge. Excellent award choices that year.

Make sure your photographer has a backup for when he gets tired.

Yes , the "Firstride " received a new correct FORD script style set of spark plug wires , engine paint & detail , the 5 star extra cab hood side moldings and the wide whites were cleaned Sun . It is staying in the back garage till then . "Art"has been getting plenty of exercise . Sat is a car show at the B& A flea market in Stuart , Fla. Tues , is Lowes show S.of Stuart , 1-9 is the church show , 1-10 is the Sewells Point show , 1-11 is the Big "O' flea market in Okeechobee , in all 20 car shows this month if you want to attend .
My step son is a photographer so may try to find a way to get him in the Boca show . Spectators admission is $75.00 .It is the big fund raiser for the Boys &Girls clubs of Palm Beach County .

Sorry Denny but if you are in the stock correct class won't whitewall tires count against you? Or was that a 5 Star cab option?

They look good but of all the detail I would think Jay Leno, Tim Allen and Wayne Carini might know that. Concours judging can be a PITA.

I believe the 10 vehicles representing the "Cars through The Decades " 1900 -1999 are going to be 'Display Only ' . the "Firstride" is looking way clean & detailed after every upgrade & detail session . Will post as many pics as possible of the show . May end up being a "pic heavy " post .25 days & counting .

Was informed by Franci Adams that all the vehicles entered in the AACA "Cars Through The Decades " will not be judged but will be qualified for some major awards , YEAH !!!
