I downloaded the app, registered my truck online, connected my iPhone via usb to my truck and cannot get a vehicle health report. The only option I get on the sync 3 app is “exit FordPass.” It does say FordPass is running.
Any tips on getting the health report would be great. I just want to know my oil life.
It goes from your truck to Ford's website through your phone. Getting your phone to properly connect to your truck using the FordPass app can be a problem. Lots of guys can't get it to work. There are instruction in the FordPass app to get it to connect. See if the instructions work for you.
What version is your iOS? Another user who's a beta tester for Apple reported that there were problems with 11.2.5. When he updated to the beta 11.3 the problems disappeared.
I went completely thru a long similar thread and not sure I know anymore than I did. Sounds like it requires some teeth pulling just to get an oil life report. I find it beyond belief that Ford does not include this in the on board info screens. It has been a long time since I depended on mileage to change the oil in our vehicles. It is especially useful when we are taking one of our long trips with our fifth wheel. My previous GMC's and the wife's new Acadia all have this info available just by pushing a button. Also, we get monthly reports on the Acadia's status via email and we didn't sign up for anything. I guess the dealer did it.
I have an outdated Samsung 6. Not sure it will work but it does do Android Auto and connects with my Bluetooth, no problem. Guess I can give it a try.
Samsung S6 is what I'm using. I'm not convinced that it's a phone problem. The instructions say to disable Android Auto but they don't say on which side? Both truck and phone?

I suspect the problem is that oil life is not a fixed value. Too many variables that can affect the oil life remaining.
Suppose you drove the truck daily, 60 miles round trip, at 60 mph, in moderate temperatures for six months, and your oil life remaining was 50%. Then you decide to head to the southwest in the middle of summer pulling a three story tall toy hauler carrying your five favorite four wheelers inside. You'd be upset when the oil monitor suddenly indicated an oil change was required two months into the trip.
I already know that for the type of driving/hauling I do, my oil monitor is going to call for an oil change at about 9000 miles. I really don't need to push a button to know that.
FWIW our old Lincoln will tell me the oil life remaining percentage at the push of a button. But then, it's just a mileage countdown device really.
Call the Ford support for owner.com amd they can walk you through it. I can't get mine because I have a Canadian truck, so I use Forscan.
It is tricky, but the steps are simple, yes, disable the truck apple CarPlay, or android. Turn Fordpass off on your computers so it doesn't lock up. Follow the steps with device connected through the USB. Try different USB to phone cables. Let it run for a while, then shut off, leave plugged in.
Go into house and check owner.com for your health report. You have to log in with your user name, look down to vehicle dat and it should have a report there.

IN SYNC 3 Settings, swipe to reach the right-hand panel, and under Android Auto, set it to 'Disable.' Then under Mobile Apps, enable both BT and USB Mobile apps.
Back all the way out of the Settings screens back to the Home screen. Start the FordPass app on your phone, then go to the Apps screen, FordPass may already show up. If not you'll need to press "Find Mobile Apps", at which point it should bring up the FordPass icon, which you can then press. FordPass will work over BT, but I believe you need to plug in over USB in order to generate a Vehicle Health Report (which seems to be working in the last few days).
Once you go through all this you will probably wonder if it was worth the bother. Not that much information to be had there, and the only useful info in the Vehicle Health Report is the oil life % remaining. Good luck!
I could not get FordPass to work with my iPhone/truck. Last night I finally performed a "master reset" on sinc3. Once I did that, FordPass linked up with the phone the next time I plugged it in. Now, I have not found the oil life yet, but the app is functioning. I had to approve it to have access to all data from the truck (gps, speed, etc) for it to work.

What version of iOS are you running on your phone.
iOS version 11.2.2. Before the master reset, the fordpass icon looked like a chain link and when I entered the app, I only had the exit ford pass option. Once reset, I get the correct icon, and I can enter the ford pass app (which seems mostly useless so far). However, I just went online to the owner.ford.com and was able to run the health report and get a percentage oil life remaining.

Cool.
I`m sure you`ve heard by now about the pitfalls up updating to 11.2.5
At least wait for Apple to release 11.3 or get the Beta version.
My iPad and iPhone X are now useless when it comes to Ford Pass because of the 11.2.5 update.
