My point was, it was Falcon carry over in the sense there was still an attachment to the Falcon lineup, even though they were obviously moving to the Fairlane suspension and drive line.
The 65 Ranchero was the last of the "Falcon Rancheros". For 66 the Falcon was built on a shortened Fairlane frame. The Ranchero was built on the full length Fairlane station wagon frame. But, the front ends were interchangeable.
