Hey guys I need help I have an 2000 7.3l with Hydra chip 250 / 200 injectors new complete valve cover harness new IPR new ICP new CPS. I'll be driving down the road all of a sudden the check engine light will come on and it starts running like it's only on One Bank then all of a sudden it will turn the light off and start running good again if I try scanning the light as soon as it starts to scan the light will come off and it starts running good again I swapped out an known good IDM and still does the same thing. Sometimes it will happen while it's sitting there idling other times I can drive for Miles without it doing it at all I can't tell what's causing it and I can't figure out how to fix it I'm pulling my hair out with this any help would be greatly appreciated

 

I have to ask the question, but are the IPR, ICP and CPS Motorcraft or International (OEM) parts?

I can watch live data while driving and can't see anything weird going on when it happens

Whats your ICP pressure. Are you running a stock HPOP with this injectors and tune? If so, that's gonna be an issue.

 

Stock hpop, 1023 and tw tunes, everything was good up in till a few days ago and I don't see anything different with pressure. I run torque pro every time I drive the truck. I just don't get it

can you scan for codes? look for p 1316. even though uvch new may still be a problem if losing a whole bank. have you ever looked at 42 pin harness where it goes across driver side valve cover, may be rubbed through?

 

take Hydra chip out and try it. Hydra in stock is still not STOCK

 

Check the wiring to and at the valve covers. If possible, gentle wiggle when the problem is presenting.

 

I am in this camp but I do not know for sure.
Definitely this anytime truck acts up.
And this is what I would try after removing that chip and testing it.

 

Last night after work I pulled my truck in the shop took the complete engine wiring harness off the truck and went through it could not find any chafed wires or bad connectors but I did not pull the valve covers off yet it happens randomly driving down the road I have to put it in neutral shut the truck off started right back up if I try scanning the codes it will turn the check engine light off and says there's no codes besides the normal ones for deleting the back pressure valve and the wastegate solenoid

 

I have had it a few times where I go to start the truck and the check engine light stays on the truck will crank but not start if I turn the key on and off a few times the check engine light will go off and it will fire right up I really do not understand what's going on and it's driving me nuts I have been Googling this problem every spare minute I have

 

SES with no start and no SES with start after cycling the key sounds like a CPS going bad so I don't know if that's related to Post #1 symptoms.

 

I put a known good cps in it and it still came up with it
