95 f350 power stroke diesel back tank
The back tank will not switch over for more than say about 11 miles. Hubby thinks it might be using just what is in the "bowl". It then starts stuttering. switch over to the front tank and runs just fine. WHAT could /might be wrong with this truck. HELP US PLEASE. Need some Ideas or a solution to this problem.

First just a a question. Is the rear tank above 1/4 full? There is a foot at the bottom of the tanks that suck fuel, if they break off, and the do, then you will have fuel starvation at less than 1/4 tank (sucking air). You can easily figure this out by filling the rear tank with more fuel.
I'm sure others will chime in to help on this issue. Of course it could be just the switching valve below your butt on the frame, but they rarely fail.
