1950 coyote build
Guys I need some help. I have a 1950 f1. I知 swapping a 2016 Mustang Coyote with a Roush Supercharger into it. I知 having Fatman fabrication make the chassis. It will have power steering. I was told that the supercharger charger will prevent me from having power steering. I found a kit from Power by the Hour in Florida that offers a bracket kit that relocates some things allowing me to have power steering. Can anyone explain in detail why I have to have this kit. I知 confused why I need to buy this.
Why can稚 i use everything that came with the engine I have? I知 also using the automatic transmission from the mustang. Thanks. Here is link to kit I知 talking about.

I haven't personally looked into it as mine is already in but in a fresh build I would certainly be interested . No pump , lines , oil = cleaner looking , cleaner , more room
and just plain easier IMHO . The only challenge would be finding the proper width of rack . P.S. new GM trucks use electric also .

EDIT: sorry, I reread your post.
What power steering are you trying to use? Aftermarket? Tell us a little more about your build. You cant run a power steering pump separate on that engine combo because it didn't have one. It runs a hydroboost and just a pump for the power steering and brakes together.
The power by the hour kit I believe uses SN95 mustang accessories and not the accessories for the coyote mustangs or f150. Some folks, me included, didn't get a complete engine with accessories. I have the engine from oil pan to intake but no accessories or wiring. PBH kit allows folks like me to use 1996-2010 accessories by using their brackets.
Like said above, those cars had electric power steering so there may not have been a place to run lines or to run a separate power steering pump. I am not using a mustang II front end so I cant tell you what will happen when trying to run a stock front end kit. My build is a crown vic front end with a coyote.
Cheers

You can look into using a electric column assist unit. Just use a manual mustang rack, and you will have power steering on the column. You can buy an after market kit that is pretty expensive, or make a custom setup using saturn vue or equivilent column motor. There are some decent write ups on a mustang forum about adapting ot to the mustang column, so I would think you could do it to a truck columb as well.

I looked at the power by the hour, they move the alt to the other side and put the power steering where the alt is originally, on the 48'-50' trucks, the engine bay is quite narrow, with the position of the coyote motor, that puts the pulley running the power steering competing with the upper control arm for space. It was just too tight for me, but you might set the engine a bit higher to make some room.
BTW the 2016 mustangs do run electric power steering.
