Nitto Ridge Grapplers?

For those running them, what do you guys think? I am planning the 295/65/R20s on my new truck, but I'm OCD about smooth riding tires (no shakes or vibrations). Any issues balancing?

I've had great luck with Nitto in the past on my Jeep all the way up to their 40" Trail Grapplers and they were great. Hoping for the same performance from their Ridge Grapplers.

I bought mine from Big O and they did not balance them very good. Have since taken to discount and they balanced out just fine. The bigger, more aggressive tires are not gonna be as smooth as your Michelin's. I have about 6k on mine (same size) and they still look new. You can hear them but they are not annoying at all. For 8hr+ highway trips I put my Michelins back on. One thing on the pressure though, I run mine around 53 frt and 50 rear unloaded. Otherwise with the extra capacity of the 295's they will bounce all over.

In general I'm very happy with the looks and performance of the tire. They are heavy though!

Have a friend with them in 35's, and he's been really happy with them. Good performance in all conditions (so far), and are not too loud on the highway. No issues on his end with balancing. The Ridge Grapplers were my number 2 choice behind the Open Country RT's I opted for...which are a little bit more aggressive.

I have about 7,000 miles on my 285/65/18. I'm running them on my 2016 F250. Like you I have been running Nittos for a long time and have great success with their tires. They still look new and are wearing very well. Mine are smooth as silk on the road with no vibration issues, balanced at Discount Tire. I run them at high PSI because of my towing which tends to be a rougher ride when empty, but it is a truck tire. They do have a slight hum on the freeway, but not bad and much less the the BFG's KO2 that I ran once, never again. I also went with these as I wanted something different than the BFG's which seem to be on every truck I look at in my area. I love the aggressive look while having all the benefits mentioned above.

Couple of pics.

I run these tires in a 35x1250x18 on my rig. They are the smoothest riding, quietest tires I have ever run! Unless you do a lot of mudding I highly recommend them

I have them on my F250 in 37x12.5x20 and they are quiet for such a big tire. No shaking or unstable feel. Used in the snow in NC over the last couple of weeks and have performed great. My wife has 35x11.5x20 on her F150 and she loves hers too.

Love them

I’m running 35x13.5x20 with 60psi front 80 rear and they are great. I’ve been too lazy to drop them down in psi to 50/60 which will increase Ride quality a bit most likely. But I also just threw on a Carli leveling kit and couldn’t be more stoked on the Ride quality.

Awesome feedback guys! Definitely think these are going on the truck shortly after delivery along with a small (maybe 1-2") BDS levelling kit.

Thanks!

I have the same tire (295/65/20) on stock wheels. I have no level right now and the tires perform great. I have no shaking or vibrations. I did have them rebalanced after 5k miles just to be sure they would not develop a shake. You will not be disappointed

I have over 30,000 miles on my 35 x 12.50 x 20 Ridge Grapplers. Great ride, quiet and wear even, 50K miles shouldn't be a problem with them. I will be putting the same thing on my new truck.

How often do you rotate and/or re-balance?

Rotate every other oil change, run 50 psi front 60 psi rear when not pulling my camper and 70 front and 80 rear pulling it. Camper is around 18K loaded, 5th wheel with close to 4K pin weight.

Huh? 50 front and 60 rear? Why? I'd also advise rotating EVERY oil change

This is on my Chevy, tire pressure sensors lowest setting without having to deal with the low tire warnings all the time.
