2016 F-150 Compass Always Reads North

Good evening,

A friend of mine has a 2016 F-150 and the compass always reads north. In searching the forum, I see that compass problems are widespread on various Ford trucks, but it looks as though some models have a reset process. Also, I wondered if sync might have a higher tech compass that can be adjusted or reset?

I do not see anything about compass problems in this section, but might anyone have advice? It can obviously go back on warranty, but if there is an easier way than a trip to the dealer, she would rather go that route.

Thanks in advance.

The compass is almost worthless IMO. It only turns at 90 degree increments. But you friendís should at least turn. I have yet to find any reset function in the settings, so it probably needs a trip to the dealership.

Mine does at least 45 degree increments, and I think I occasionally see half of that (like ENE, or NNE); but I have to admit I don't pay all that much attention to it.

Very simple explanation.

The reason the compass always reads north is to remind us F150 owners that the purchase price of our F150 was high and the purchase price is going up every year.

When in compass mode, if you push the o.k button on the left side of the steering, it will change from fixed to floating mode, in fixed, N will always be top, float will show the trucks front end direction.
