Used slide in for dually , do all 8' fit?

I have a 1999 F350 CC dually, 4X4,
I want to get a used 8' or bigger slide in camper.
Are there any concerns on what fit's or do they basically all fit ?
Thanks!

With a dually, I would expect you have ample payload capacity for most campers. The most common fit issue is with height - some campers require a boost to for the cabover to clear the cab. I use a sheet of plywood under the camper; others require a build-up of 2x4's or 4x4's, depending on the camper specifics.

That's good to know, I never knew that could be an issue.
Only thing that I thought of is if the jacks are far enough apart to clear the
DRW fenders?
Thanks!

I strongly recommend a test load before signing any papers on a slide in. Back under it, set it down, check for any fit issues, make sure the plug reaches and all the running lights work.

A couple of thing you may want to consider, if you haven't already.
A camper designed for a short bed truck will not fit, although there are some that will fit both a short or long bed.
The front camper jacks may require a swing-out bracket to clear the rear fenders. These can be easily installed after the fact.

.
Now, what is the reason that short bed campers may not fit in an 8’ bed?
The reason I am asking is that I have a Pace-Edwards tonneau cover with tha cannister in my dually. I have been thinking that for my boondocking excursions, an overhead slide in type for a short bed truck would work with out removing the cannister. Just would not be sliding the unit all the way to the front of the bed. That way I don’t need to pull the 41’ Raptor when offroading.

I've heard of short-box campers being used in long-box trucks. The rear axle to tailgate dimension is the same, so they should be okay. They might not suit everyone's appearance standards, but that's personal. They do give a storage opportunity at the front of the box.

Our Artic Fox 811S which is the short box version won't fit a long box,the box would hit the built in generator.

If the slide in was only inserted 6 1/2 feet?

Aside from the fact of the jacks, if it doesn't go to the front of the box where will the tie down points end up? Sorry it might be a lame question as I haven't been around slide ins since the middle 70's.

Yep, you could do that.

If it was me, I'd get front and rear axle weights before and after just to make sure I didn't pull any off the front and rear was within margin.

on our 2000 with a 1999 8ft camper we had to raise the camper with 2x4s and plywood about 3 inches to clear the cab and we had to space the camper a couple inches back from the cab so the trucks tail lights wouldn't get hit.
We also had to add the swing out extensions on the front jacks to clear the duallys.
