2004 ford Escape V6 3.0L
Hello fellow members,
I have an issue with this car. It was acquired in August 2017 by a "friend" . He told me it had a bent valve and that he could fix it. Well, after the "fix", it still rattles. He has not looked at it since. the engine shakes. I finally towed it to a licensed mechanic who informed me that the compression test showed #4,5,6 had 125psi, #1-85 psi, # 2-105 psi , #3- 75psi. . He said there was internal problems, perhaps the timing chain was not replaced correctly from previous valve job and that would damage the engine, He also said the fuses, relays, ground ok. He thinks it is a lost cause to fix the engine and that I should have the engine replaced. Is this the only option? It has 133k miles
