Ford 4.9L 300 I6 Picture

Hello,

Any of you folks have a picture of a 1980's Ford 4.9L 300 I6? Looking for a photo like off the assembly line or in a showroom. Trying to get some ideas of how to set up my engine bay... Engine colors, electrical wiring, vacuum hoses, hoses, etc... I'm doing it from scratch... I'd like it close to original.

Thanks..

Look thru my post going to sayidle to end for pictures.
Now I pulled most of the vacuum lines as stuff was missing when I got the truck and it was not needed.

Do you have the sticker on the radiator support for vacuum line routes?
I will see if I can post a link to a few of them also when I get on my pc.

Ok on my PC now.
I did ask this same question (paint colors) when I started my project and did not get any pictures back. I don't think there were many taken when the trucks were new.

With that said I went with what I thought it would be and liked. I do know on other makes some things were not painted and left to rust, I did not want this so I painted everything.

Frame, suspension, running gear, motor brackets, fuel tanks painted black.

motor painted Ford lt blue, trany (T18) painted casy iron silver.

As said I will not have the pollution equipment on the motor so that stuff will not be "plumbed" but here is the sticker I am going by as everything on this truck came from the truck this sticker came from.

The other sticker I am not going by but is the same

you can click on the links for a larger view of the vacuum stickers.

Hope that helps

Festus came home 19 weeks ago yesterday. With the holidays and cold weather, I haven't worked on him every day; but here's a look at where the engine was on October 22, and where it is today.

Great pictures. Thanks. Its a lot of work, isn't it. Unfortunately, I'm in California, so Moonbeam will be checking my emission system thoroughly.

I just finished refurbishing all the wiring harness about a month ago. Prior to that, I sanded, primed and painted all the plastic from the engine bay, shroud, wheel wells, heat ducts, etc... I've been working on refurbishing or replacing with new, screws, bolts, vacuum lines, tubing, clamps, etc...

I'm retired now, so it gives me something to do.

Thanks.

I have a 1984 Ford F150 Styleside 2 WD 4.9L 300 I6 4 SP OD .... I have the EEC 4. I was just curious to see if anyone had a photo or a picture from a magazine of the engine brand new, untouched. I was looking for things like engine colors, how the electrical wiring, vacuum hoses, etc... was routed, things like that. I'd like to get as close to original as I can.
