Ford oval fell off
emblem fell off my tailgate
Has anybody lost the ford emblem off there tailgate? I was washing my truck by hand. When I moved the sponge over my emblem, the thin plastic blue ford insignia came right off the backing plate oval. I can probably glue it back on.
If it falls off again - Does anybody know if you can get a replacement?
It came off the front of my Ford Edge as well but in a different way. It came off in small pieces each day for about a month until all I have left is a silver oval. I think with the Edge, the emblem was painted or printed. The truck just has the super thin plastic cover over the oval.
I sure hope I don't lose my big front Ford Oval.

As stupid as it is for them to make these emblems junk, they have. And the vehicle looks awful without them or when the are sun faded. Emblems on 70's and 80 model vehicles look better than emblems on 2010 model vehicles.
Only good news I can tell you is aftermarket emblems are easy to find online and are relatively cheap. I just saw some on amazon for $20. You can get factory blue ones, blacked out ones, red white and blue ones, camo, etc....,,,

Thanks for the responses - I'll give the epoxy a go. If it fails I'll look for aftermarket. It is kinda surprising Ford wouldn't want to keep there emblem looking good. These little details give an amazing truck a tarnished look. Remember when the paint fell off their galvanized hoods in the early eighties.
