Ford oval fell off

emblem fell off my tailgate
Has anybody lost the ford emblem off there tailgate? I was washing my truck by hand. When I moved the sponge over my emblem, the thin plastic blue ford insignia came right off the backing plate oval. I can probably glue it back on.
If it falls off again - Does anybody know if you can get a replacement?

It came off the front of my Ford Edge as well but in a different way. It came off in small pieces each day for about a month until all I have left is a silver oval. I think with the Edge, the emblem was painted or printed. The truck just has the super thin plastic cover over the oval.

I sure hope I don't lose my big front Ford Oval.

2012 F350

Put a thin layer of two part epoxy on the back and re stick it. Don’t wait because it may fall off when your driving or parked in the sun

As stupid as it is for them to make these emblems junk, they have. And the vehicle looks awful without them or when the are sun faded. Emblems on 70's and 80 model vehicles look better than emblems on 2010 model vehicles.

Only good news I can tell you is aftermarket emblems are easy to find online and are relatively cheap. I just saw some on amazon for $20. You can get factory blue ones, blacked out ones, red white and blue ones, camo, etc....,,,

Since the foreign mfgs have copied the oval and Ford body so closely I have a hard time figuring out what's coming at me on the road. Ford should be ashamed.

It's pretty common. The emblem came off of my '12s tailgate a few years ago. Just dropped right off into the snow. Still have the silver oval on there, but no emblem. Oh well, I guess if it starts to bother me, I'll get another one.

I liked the old grills that had FORD inside them. Even the letters on the front of the hood were cool....even though one of the letters always fell off.

Thanks for the responses - I'll give the epoxy a go. If it fails I'll look for aftermarket. It is kinda surprising Ford wouldn't want to keep there emblem looking good. These little details give an amazing truck a tarnished look. Remember when the paint fell off their galvanized hoods in the early eighties.

I hope it does fall off... Then I have an excuse to replace the oval with something I like.

The front oval is almost as big as one of the tires.
