Looking at an 04 Ranger 4x4 with 40,000 miles

My wife works as a nurse in our rural community and one of her elderly patients is giving up driving and offered her this truck for a nice low price. She has owned two rangers in the past and loves them. We are gonna look at it tomorrow. One owner, 3.0 v6, Auto trans, 4x4 extra-cab, canopy. I'm guessing it hasn't been used for rock crawling. Anything to ask about or look for? I spend a lot of time (too much) on the '47 and older group here. Thanks in advance. GB

It sounds like a nice find...but I suppose you should keep in mind that Ford had some problems with bad heads on the 3.0L from '04-'06.

That sounds like a great find! But I have a brochure for the 2004 Ranger and it doesn't show the availability of a 3.0L at all. Check the engine when you look at it. I think that only the 4.0 was available in the 4x4.

Crisis averted.... We drove it
today and it was a 2wd. I think my wife was mistaken when she said it was 4wd. Very nice truck, white, extra cab, matching canopy, but 2wd. If you guys could see the mountain we live on, 4wd is a must in winter, and even many spring days. The woodie wagon in my avatar will be driven on good days. That's my project, made from a 47 jailbar pickup. link https://spark.adobe.com/video/M0ynvLlPj2GCC
